The Wolves of Summer

Bright Wolf on one side of me
Dark wolf on the other
Sisters urging me
Chasing me
Howling me
Into the Between Place
The Place beyond Light and Shadow
Where the Gods Themselves
Stand naked
Souls laid bare
In the First and Final
Act of Trust.

Wolves of Summer, Shadow and Light,
Before You no Clothing
Can cover the Soul
Of Emperor
Or Peasant
